Super Storm Haiyan Hits the Philippines
What is believed to have been the strongest typhoon in history is testing the faith and willpower of the Filipino people. Haiyan hit the Philippine Islands with power and fury, leaving behind immeasurable destruction and loss of lives.
This has touched the hearts of Filipinos and their friends all around the world. Their spirits are dampened, but their willpower and the Filipino Spirit of “Bayanihan” will help them rebuild.
SCORE Medical Mission Team, in conjunction with the UST Medical Mission Inc., are on their way to the Visayas to provide essential medical and surgical help. This team has been tested by time and experience and they have earned their place in the Medical Missions Hall of Fame. They have visited and provided mission work to this area five times in the past several years. They have also provided medical help in similar disaster areas, giving aid in the aftermath of the tsunami in Indonesia, Hurricane Katrina, and the Haitian earthquake.
We the Filipino People and our friends pray that with Divine guidance, those suffering from mother nature’s fury will be able to recover and rebuild.
